IT's LR Time TDV6 removal & teardown

I do recommend this Channel!

Today, Christian and Vera pull the engine out body-on with a view to line-boring the engine after spun bearings. Some potentially valuable technical opinion on crank/bearing failure by Christian.

Change your engine oil regularly, folks!

What a video!!!
Nice to see the weak oil pump which caused me £4000 to get sorted as it’s my only transport.
Well done guys 👏🏻 👏🏻

I think this has to be their best instalment so far, tricky to get this stuff right in a professional machine shop, let alone a home garage setup. He's certainly developed his skills here, and is a great example of what can be achieved with relatively basic equipment and a bit of ingenuity. I know more that a few with much higher equipment levels but no clue how to use them to full effect.

Well done to him (and Vera Laughing ) Hat is appropriately doffed! Thumbs Up

United States 2008 LR3 4.4 V8 HSE Lux Auto Zermatt SilverLR3

I love following LR time. While I don’t have the same tools at my disposal, they give me confidence that a serious/confident DIYer can tackle jobs that LR wouldn’t even allow their dealers to touch. It makes owning a LR a little less worrying and a bit more reassuring.

Another channel I’ve been enjoying is “OUTBACK Discovery.” He’s an Aussie that does some serious off-roading (bush travel) and fixes his own Discovery 3 also. He just wrapped up a front diff rebuild and coincidentally is now tearing apart his TDV6 for a replacement due to a failed oil pump.

I wish there was someone doing this same level of work on a 4.4L V8. And before anyone suggests, it won’t be me! I can barely keep up with my 60 year old house and my wife’s 350k km Volvo!
