Discovery 3 with an engine failure

Hello from germany,

i bought a Discovery 3 with an engine failure. 2.7 Diesel, Euro4.
It's a special camper edition from Denmark, so I took it.

The car will be transported to the car repair service next week.

When the car was started for the first time, it had developed thick white smoke at the rear. Now no more white smoke at the start afterwards.

I have 2 Youtube videos. Can the experts hear what damage the car maybe have?

This might give us some clues for troubleshooting.
There are no warning lights or error messages in the speedometer.

Thank you very much and best regards
Dejan

Hi, You can get more information if you used an GAP IID tool.

For this machine it is a must have tool.

White smoke can be caused by

Blown head gasket
Cracked engine block or head
Contaminated fuel
leaking Oil cooler (Through most of the time, the oil passes into the coolant)

Fuel pump timing, Injectors.

Camshaft belt service (done correctly?)

A few more details like engine mileage? would help.

Regards,

Thank you very much for your answer. Thumbs Up

timing belt was changed in 10/2020, at 264.900 Km.
Camshaft i think is the first one.

the car now have 268.000 Km.

i would take a look on the GAP Tool.

thanks a lot!
