Front caliper not releasing, ABS pump/Master issue?? |
|
Hi, I had the front offside disc and pad completely worn (the nearside was half worn) so assumed the caliper was sticking and changed it. I renewed the front discs and pads at the same time. I also changed both front brake pipe hoses.
5,000 miles later that same thing is happening so I assume it was not the caliper at all. The offside wheel gets hotter than the nearside so assume it is binding.
When I bled the front brakes, the fluid definitely flowed much better on the nearside to the offside. Perhaps it is all part of the same problem.
Does anyone know if there is a common ABS pump or master cylinder problems that affects just one corner?
Thanks

It could be a faulty brake hose, they break down internally and act like a non return valve.
The other thing to check is the servo for oil contamination. Andrew

Turned out to be a faulty ABS pump module.
