Failed EPB Advice
Morning world!
My car has experienced the dreaded handbrake failure over the weekend - as usual, just as you need the car. After a little huffing and puffing I managed to pull the release cable and get home.
I am happy with stripping the rear brakes and will replace with new, the advice I need is if it’s worth changing anything else whilst at it?
The awareness of a problem (other than the car not moving) was the horrendous screech as the car tried to disengage - how much damage is caused because of this and should I consider any further replacement parts.

Is that purely for access?
Was the module easy to rebuild?

Easy to rebuild and access is good if you have a lift as both rear brakes need to removed too

Right - rears stripped and cleaned and new shoes
Fuse refitted and go to follow bedding in process - no dash indication of cycle and motor screeching as before.
Am I doomed to a damaged motor?

Do the cables need to be detached to do this adjustment?
