Annoying problem with blinkers / hight beam switch
I have an annoying problem:
If I use the blinkers to the left, it works no worries
If i use the blinkers to the right, headlights set to high beam ...
if i move the switch to the high beam position while having the blinkers to the right then i have low beams.
So basically high beam and low beams are reversed only when the blinkers are on the "to the right" position.
I believe all of the contacts work because every position on the switch gear has an effect, i believe this a position allocation issue with the canbus maybe ?
This issues appeared after i let the kids (3 and 5 Yo) in the car with the key in the ignition (my mistake) but engine turned off.
This is driving me nuts ! and LR dealers around here are NOT friendly with old disco 3 ...
Does anyone have a solution for this ? (i don't own an ID tool ...)
Thanks

Is it possible that the minions were playing with the stalks and maybe overextended them somehow so the mechanical (plastic) components shifted too much? Both stalks are modules held in place with two screws each so they are relatively easy to replace once you get the cowl under the steering wheel off (also held in place with step screws).

I had the same idea but would i have all the functions 'but reversed when indicating to the right) if it was the case ?
To the feel all the position feel Ok, no weird sensation as if something mechanical happened.

TBH I don’t know about that… I also don’t think it is possible to interfere with canbus functionality just by having the key in ignition and two kids hacking the car
I do know that the wiper stalk can relatively easily go so that the rear wiper doesn’t turn off anymore and there have been a few threads on how to fix it by opening the module. Myself, I bought a set of new (used) stalks on here and replaced and things were good again.

So a little update, as you told me, solved by changing the blinkers switch, very easy and cheap on Ebay. I went for D3 direct replacement because there was a set available locally for cheap..
