Blacked out rear windows

Does anyone know if the blacked out rear windows many discovery 3s have was factory or is it aftermarket. I am currently looking for a manual discovery 3 but don't like the blacked out windows. I am wondering if its just a matter of stripping film off the inside of I were to buy one with windows like this or if glass I'd actually dark.

I believe the factory fitted tints don’t readily show the copper coloured antennae on the side windows or the heating elements on the rear, whereas aftermarket tints do. Someone may correct me though. Question

Correct.

If it’s factory fitted darkened glass the pigment is part of the complete glass and you should not see any orange traces on the windows in the rear, whether aerial or heating related.

Dealer fitted, as well as aftermarket, film will show the same traces as they’re closer to the outer surface than the tinting itself which is applied on the inside. This part is logical when you think of it as layers.

Here is an example of aftermarket tinting (quality but still) on the side windows

Thumbs Up Aftermarket tints 'can' be removed - not saying it will be easy especially if they've been on for a long time, but it is possible. Look for the lines!
