Seriously, if you want the nearest tyre to the BFG's, the Goodyear Duratrac is the one to go for, slightly less aggressive and my choice (in your situation) would be the Pirelli AT+. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Well I finally managed to get over to see Charles yesterday and what a very helpful chap.
We stood my 4 tyre options next to the car and went through the pros / cons of each… finally settling on a new set of Pirelli Scorpion AT+.
Very pleased and a lovely drive home 👍
Many Thanks

Hi all,
Complete newbie here....
Would these options mentioned fit on my 2008 D3 too?
Needing to pick up a set of wheels and off road tyres ready for October and trying to get my head round the best options available.
Any help much appreciated 👍
Also if anyone knows where is a decent place to source them from near(ish) to the North East that would be grand too!
Cheers!

What size rims are you running?
If you are sourcing wheels and tyres as a combo then you have many choices to go for depending on your intended use.
Having just been through this issue myself but only looking for tyres in 255/55/r19 I had 4 shortlisted as mentioned above. But my use is mostly road based but living very rural I need to be ready for all weathers and mud filled farm tracks etc.
If I was going to a smaller wheel I would have probably gone back to BF Goodrich AT2… but they don’t do them in 19”.
It really depends on intended use and size requirementsMany Thanks

Hi Eyley,
What are you going to be using the tyres for? Serious off road? A bit of farm tracks when shooting? Just as a winter tyre on the road?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Thanks all,
Would be mostly for negotiating fields and woods in winter as part of a shoot yes, so nothing too adventurous!
My novice brain was going to pick up a set of 18 inch alloys then wrap them in some form of all terrain tyres, but im very open to advice if there's a better way of doing it.
Cheers
Nick
