I have tapped into the aux directly at the head unit multiplug and this means you dont have to plug into the existing aux socket (blank plug) because its basically disconnected completely. Also there's no issue with volume level being low.1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !

Hi
Funny u talking about adding an Aux in the base model, added one from the back of the radio by buying a plug in loom that has the Aux lead incorporated , then spent ages fitting the aux socket into my dashboard

Yes we discussed this a couple of years ago

And I hardwired mine behind the aux panel in the rear.
I was interested in doing something nearer the front to avoid the low volume issue.
I think, as suggested, a hard wire (or a splitter) from the back of the head unit multiplug.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Hi mate, wondering if you could point me to the correct plug in loom for the D3? Is it really just a simple plug and play with the head unit? Locating wiring in footwells etc seems a bit much for me! Thanks
