I can easily demonstrate that catching the brake pedal ever so slightly kills the revs when you try to accelerate - with the effect obviously being more noticeable when you're trying to jump into a small gap in traffic.
However, last week - as I've fessed up elsewhere - I found that (due to trainers being worn-out to the point of being grip-free  ) when I was trying to brake to allow oncoming vehicle through a gap, I was struggling to stop the D4 moving forward. Side of trainer had clearly slipped enough to mean I was pressing the accelerator as well as brake and it got a bit squeaky-bum ... no way would I have been able to move my foot without lifting off the brakes, so I just pushed harder and harder,
Having managed not to hit the other car, the dash then went through what seemed like every possible fault it can display ( HDC / Parking Brake / DSC / Normal Height etc.) but all cleared when I shut the car off and waited 30 seconds.
Question is ... does this mean my Brake Switch is on it's way out ? the "safety feature" of it killing the revs still works ( breaking-in the new trainers today proved that ) so surely pressing hard on the brake should have over-ridden the act of inadvertently pushing on the accelerator.

Yes it sounds very much like the BLS. Your description introduced deja vu on this end..

what's the consensus ? Genuine only or are there good alternatives ? certainly aiming above "blurred picture on eBay" quality
