Warranty Direct - no further renewals

In the light of the information in other threads about WD being closed to new business I emailed them saying:-

Quote:
I have been reading in the press, with some concern, that you are no longer
accepting new business.

I have two current warranties with you, one for my Land Rover Discovery 4 &
one for my Mercedes Benz SL.

I had anticipated renewing them when they expire, please confirm that, as
anticipated when I took them out, this will still be possible.

Their reply was an uncompromising:-

Quote:
Dear Mr S

Unfortunately we will not to able to renew your two policies.

Kind Regards,

Customer Services

No explanation, no expression of regret.

I should add that I have not made a claim under either of the present policies, and only made one claim under the policy for my Disco3 some years ago for IIRC a couple of hundred pounds.

I think my D3 just came out on top with WD, which of course means they made no money out of me and is not sustainable.

Al - that seems to be the case.

I would encourage everyone who has a WD warranty to enquire of them about renewals.

I took out both warranties on the assumption that I would be able to renew them whilst the cars were less than yy years old with less than mm thousand miles.

Warranty Direct? - No comments on their demise?

Strangely, have not found any 'auto press' observations on the demise of WD? Anyone found any?

I've just had a letter from Cardiff Pinnacle who were the owners of the Warranty Direct brand. They have sold the WD brand to FirstBase (Future Marketing) Ltd effective 4th Feb.
In summary;
No changes to cover or conditions of policy.
Policy will continue to be underwritten by Pinnacle Insurance
Admin will still be done by Cardiff Pinnacle
Only renewing policies which expire before 8th March 2021. Customers with policies expiring after this date will be contacted by FBFM regarding cover options
 D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen
D4 2014 SDV6 HSE - Shiny

Having trouble reading the letter. Can you clarify? Are they saying they are selling the brand to another company and that you can renew with them on the same terms and service?
Cheers
