In the light of the information in other threads about WD being closed to new business I emailed them saying:-
Quote:
I have been reading in the press, with some concern, that you are no longer
accepting new business.
I have two current warranties with you, one for my Land Rover Discovery 4 &
one for my Mercedes Benz SL.
I had anticipated renewing them when they expire, please confirm that, as
anticipated when I took them out, this will still be possible.
Their reply was an uncompromising:-
Quote:
Dear Mr S
Unfortunately we will not to able to renew your two policies.
Kind Regards,
Customer Services
No explanation, no expression of regret.
I should add that I have not made a claim under either of the present policies, and only made one claim under the policy for my Disco3 some years ago for IIRC a couple of hundred pounds.

I think my D3 just came out on top with WD, which of course means they made no money out of me and is not sustainable.

Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD
I would encourage everyone who has a WD warranty to enquire of them about renewals.
I took out both warranties on the assumption that I would be able to renew them whilst the cars were less than yy years old with less than mm thousand miles.

We’ve broken WD in the same way we broke Tesco car warranties!
Is for you chaps, I have reached the stage of enlightenment that no longer requires such a thing.

Having trouble reading the letter. Can you clarify? Are they saying they are selling the brand to another company and that you can renew with them on the same terms and service?
CheersGary
