Bringing my disco3 back to the motherland

Hi Guys,

i have to come back to the UK from NZ and I will be bringing my disco3 TDV6 with me! Thumbs Up

I would welcome any advice as to the procedure for importing the disco. So far I know I have to get a speedo that reads MPH/KPH. Anyone know how much this will cost??

I'll also need a certificate of EU conformity from LR.

I'm trying to find an e-mail address so that I can ask LR customer services some other questions and get the certificate organised. Can anyone here tell me their e-mail??

I will be going up north and not too far from lakeland so will probably use them for servicing etc, they seem really good with customer service.

Looks like I'm in for a pasting with fuel prices Sad , Here things have also gone up recently ltr diesel $1.28 which works out to be 51.2p. I was really good the lowest I paid was 27p !!! and that was 6 months ago!

Hopefully 'll be meeting up with some of you on the days out. I look forward to it.

Isn't the speedometer calibrated in mph and kph already?

Just been out to check - mine is. Mph in white and kph in green.

Google 'import car into UK' and you'll get a lot of hits or look here:-

for some good advice. It may not be as bad as you think.

Hi tyke65

As regards the speedo its only in KPH, and I should know as i have to stare at it constantly. The cops here are rather strict with speeding and we can only max 100kph herei n NZ !!!

Thanks for the links

Bad luck that yours is only in kph but it might mean that you only need to change the speedo face plate when you get back. If you can get just the face plate, of course.

I'm sure Nick at Yeovil or Ryan at Lakeland will be able to help with the speedo issue

HI once again,

Looks like a new instrument pack will be required. Must thank Mark at lakeland for their rapid response.
If only DVLA were as helpful. I'm trying to get info as to whether I'll need to undergo the SVA test for the disco or whether my car, as it was first registered outside the EU will qualify for an EU/UK certificate of conformity. SVA is like an extended MOT.

Does anyone have e-mail address of landrover customer services so that I can check with them?

Thanks
