I think you would get away without it

Measure before replacing and measure afterwards. Jack the wishbones up to correct measurement before tightening the bottom shock bolt

Plus 1, didn’t have any issues when I replaced both my front struts , as mentioned just ensured i pre loaded the wishbones before tightening the bolts up and also measured the heights before and after
Must admit was like night and day in the difference to ride quality including cornering
As a side note mine didn’t come with the top strut nuts , I got nyloc stainless steel ones along with brass pushfits to replace the voss connectors to ease installation
Also check before hand to see what ur torque wrench rating is as the bottom strut to the lower wishbone bolt is 300Nm/ 221 Ilbs
Hope that also helps a little , Plse let us know how u get on

Getting there
Thanks for the replies guys. So, eventually got round to fitting a new near side shock/air spring as the car was sink down to bump stops in about 8hours, but something fishy is going on, I thought I’d test how it was holding, below is a table of the heights after I had charges up the suspension then again 24hr later
I assume I have a leak at the front valve block also or in the air line, but the weird one is even with all fuses for the suspension pulled out, the rear off side actually gained height while the front two sank, any ideas of how this is possible,
Near side front 50 cm - 41cm
Off side front 49 - 43.5
Off side rear 51.5 - 53.5
Near side rear 50.5 - 50

Thanks for reply, my understanding is that if the fuses have all been remove the car won’t self level?
