Interesting post, I was more interested in the screen he had mounted in place of the sat nav ... looked like a good install and very useful !

good to explain it again!

but TBH... that is "old" news" (not meant bad..) when a FBH heater is used as a combined unit (so Parking heater AND auxillary heater) you should always wait af few minutes, until it did its shut down sequence

luckily you can hear that and it is normally only approx 2 minutes

that is the reason fitting a remote with a GSM is the way to go...

start it up half an hour before you want to go.... and when walking out of the door or the shop or whatever.. to the motor shut it down... when you get there and are seated... those 2 minutes are quickly over and there you go...

clocks work on diesels, but are designed for petrol or diesel parking heaters with NO auxillary use...

because they are relatively cheap a lot of people use / installed them though.. but do not blame the unit... 8)
 Best regards
Harold

I didn’t come across the problem, using Wbus and can at the same time.

it has nothing to do with W-bus and CAN... it is just that a fault code "can" be triggered if it is getting a startup trigger, before the cooldown sequence is ended...

i must say i never had that problem or fault code, BUT is in "my system" to always wait to start the engine till the FBH is quiet again, so ended the cooldown sequence

same with engine running below 6 degrees celcius.. if i do a short drive to the corner...shorter than 10 min i let the engine run... or drive an extra few kilometers..

there is nothing more worse for a FBH (in time) than to let it run less than 10 mins...
 Best regards
Harold
