A pillar trim clips LR026343, can any one confirm please? |
|
Hi every one.
Last year my A pillar trim drivers side came off in the wind, i clipped it back in and forgot about it, donut again today so want to order the new clips.
Just want to confirm, when i had the d3, i upgraded to a newer trim kit with sticker pad blanks for one hole each side.
The part number I keep finding ref to for the d4 is LR026343. So assume they released a new kit for the d4.
Is this correct and is it one set per side?
Also, at present all the clips on my a pillar trim are white, any pics i have seen show yellow and white.
Any help much appreciated as always, cheers.

That’s been superseded by LR077843. But yes, one set per side. AFAIK it’s four yellow and a white clip per side.

Just bought 2 new A pillar trims, they came with grey clips (same as LR077843) and they have the 2 plastic locating pins as well. As mentioned with the D3 tsb, lower pin should be cut off and the hole covered with a black pad to stop water ingress, so did the water ingress magically stop with the disco 4 and they kept the pin?
Just to throw another spanner in the works, the old R/H trim was held on with a yellow clip at the top and the rest grey, all the grey clips came off, the yellow one stayed in the A pillar. The L/H trim was held on with grey clips, I'm not the 1st owner, so no idea what is correct.
The fact the yellow clip is still in place would make you think they all should be yellow and the trims wouldn't flap about & part company on the motorway. The most anoying thing is the paint gets chipped around the holes, too cold to touch them up.

Yes, mine has the pin still there. I don’t have any water leaks at present.
I wonder what the difference is?

Whichever clips you use, Sikaflex around the holes and under the trim, will stop any leaks and also ensures it stays put ! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Here’s a vid I put together about the a pillar trims and the front cowl replacement. You can clearly see the design of the Land Rover clips differing from the cheapo aftermarket ones that were installed on mine. Also the windscreen installer did a perfectly crappy install job and scratched up the a pillar frame enough for me to spend an hour touching things up.
Hope it helps.

Why was the windscreen cowl sitting up, good video, maybe repost it, how to replace windscreen cowl, seems to be quite common, plastic is rubbish and degrades quite quickly, expect more so in California! As a few of us have found out you can't buy the foam separately, have to buy the A pillar as well.

The left hand side foam is
CJD500030
Not sure on the right.
Thanks for the advice on renaming. Yep it was totally goosed. I think that the windshield guy just messed it up royally. There was a lot of us damage as well as you can imagine. I’m used to rust being from the uk, now I have to deal with rust free withered plastic. Ha. I know which I’d prefer. I’ve seen 5 year old cars with peeling paint. Crazy.
