Hello,

Dartanjang, I think AT tires are better in deep snow than dedicated winter tires (Hakkapeliittas for example). And deep snow was mentioned in the title of this thread so I guess that's what original poster was looking for.

For on road performance in the winter, there's nothing that beats a proper studded winter tire. Of course the winter is little bit different here in the north than on the your misty island. Laughing I'm also running Hakkapeliitta 8 myself. Usually running them from November to end of April when the temperature is constantly below zero.

Could very well be. My thinking is that when I compare tread depth, the AT:s and Nokians are pretty similar. And I assume that the tread pattern of the Nokians are designed specifically for ice and snow. They shuffle away the snow very well and have never left med standing so I can recommend them for those conditions. I have personally not compared the ATs and the Nokians for snow conditions so I cannot say which one is better for snow and I have not encountered such a comparison anywhere. It would be interesting to see if somebody has actually done the investigation.

I have run both in heavy snow conditions.

As for traction in going not a lot of difference between two.

Nokians far better at stopping and quickly.

With Nokians fitted you really had to push it to extremes to get traction control to kick in, both acceleration and braking Thumbs Up
