With Discovery 3's and RRS's now getting on for 14/15 years old, we are forever being asked for a cheapie, but rather than go down the cheap route, we have negotiated a volume price on this quality Optimal version, and a unique enhancement to the warranty period which conveys our confidence in the product.
LR014147 RFM500010 LR076692 Optimal 881717 Front wheel hub Bearing Discovery 3 & 4, Range Rover Sport (02/05-/)
4 Year warranty on this kit applies from 12th November 2019
Kit contains:
Optimal Hub Bearing Unit
4 x Retaining Bolts FC112146
1 x Hub Nut - Old type for original drive shafts RFD500020 (CDU1534L)
Hub nut torque has been reduced to 230Nm / 169 lb-ft, correct torque is important.
The retaining bolts are known to sheer if over-tightened so it is important to ensure the threads are clear before refitting and tighten to 115Nm

LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes,pads,callipers,flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

Are you still doing Timken bearings? They seem to be the most recommend on here. Not sure I want to be doing it twice.

I'd like to know too, mine are being replaced next week and they're fitting Timken at a cost about twice as much if theseMark

I wouldn't try anything other than Timken. I changed my NS front 50,000 miles ago (and 4 1/2 years) for a genuine Timken, still as good as the day it was fitted.
Only my opinion though, others might have had a good experience with cheaper parts. Richard

AF used to sell Optimal bearings
Then stopped
Now selling them again
Same as our local motor factors sell. Never had an issue with them in the past My D3 Build Thread
What’s the best value tool to fit these? Is there a generic tool or do I need a LR tool?

No special tools required.
33mm socket for hubnut, (assuming you have original driveshafts)
Torque wrench
Ratchet ring spanner useful for mounting bolts, socket to torque up same.
Wire brush to clean up exposed thread of mounting bolts before removal.
WD40 or other dismantling fluid.
Club or other hammer. DO NOT HAMMER DIRECTLY ON THE END OF THE DRIVE SHAFT
Old screwdriver or cold chisel to unstake / stake hubnut.
The brake disc and caliper have to come off and this requires bihex sockets and a TX50 bit.
