BAS FBH Controller - Looking for Card Testing Advice
Hi Folks,
I've got a BAS FBH remote controller with a SIM chip installed. It was working up until November when it stopped responding. No power up texts or GPS location texts. I hadn't got around to using it on the remote start this year yet but tried that - no luck.
I had a look through the pin hole at the coax end of the casing and couldn't see any active lights this time.
I did all the obvious tests:
- checked the FBH fuse in the fuse box - all OK
- checked the 3A inline fuse - all OK
- continuity checks on the wiring - all OK
- checked pins 11 & 15 on the loom - all OK
- diagnostic test on the FBH - all OK
- checked the FBH starts in normal operation - all OK
- replaced the SIM with a new one which I know is good - all OK
- checked the GPS/GSM antenna is still attached - all OK
However, it is still not working.
I connected the card without the external casing and had a look: none of the lights are working. So, no red light for power nor blue or green lights either. It suggests that there is no power to the card but I have power on the 11 and 15 pins.
I'm a bit stumped here. Does anyone know how to check the card itself? Anyone see anything similar?

Not yet. It's the holidays so I wouldn't expect him to be available. I'll drop him a note on Monday.
Thought I'd ask here first in case anyone else has had the same problem.
Have you checked for power at the Dplug end, Has it been wet, as I went to one lately that had a under bonnet wash and it got inside the unit and stopped it working.

By the D-plug end, I guess you mean the female VGA connector? I checked for power across pins 11 and 15 using a volt meter: got 12V.
The casing sits in the battery box and hasn't got wet. All the connections have shrink tubing fitted and have been continuity tests so they are good.
