Tdv6 jerking and missing after LP pump replaced

My 2005 d3 tdv6 kept going into limp mode under hard acceleration with the code for low fuel pressure, finally the car just cut out while driving and I could hear the LP in the tank was not running, and a check at the Schroder valve showed no fuel coming through, so after removing the tank and fitting a good used original fuel pump from the local landrover guy and refitting of the tank, car started after bleeding and good pressure at the Schroder valve I was back on the road. All seemed good for the first 50km and then my d3 went into limp mode again with a p2288 code for excessive high fuel pressure. I finally got the car out of limp mode and now it has developed a terrible continuous 'jerk or miss' at low rpm and higher speed driving, I have fitted a new filter at the same time that I fitted the LP pump. No one seems to be able to tell me what the problem could be.
Even though the original fuel pump gave limp mode under hard acceleration the car was smooth with no jerk or miss, so since changing the LP pump something has gone wrong and I don't know where to start looking.
Anyone out there have this problem or have an idea what can be the cause. Every time it goes into limp mode now the the Code thrown out is for fuel pressure to high?
With the window down it sounds like driving past a whole row of poles for lack of a better explanation.
Thanks

Why fit a used part, when going to the extent of dropping the fuel tank? Confused

Hi Mikey
Price and availability were contributing factors

Check you have the pipes on the right way round on the filter

How do you known it was 100% good, and it wasn't doing the same fault in the previous car?

If you have a fault code on high fuel pressure there is something with the return as when the hp pump try to regulate down pressure but it has nowhere to bleed of to.

Before the pump failed the car was smooth no jerking and the only fault was limp mode at hard acceleration with the code being low fuel pressure, now it's not smooth at all and limp mode code is fuel pressure too high.

This sounds feasible but how can I check this, what regulates the pressure, could the small valve on the LP pump in the tank be the cause?

The original pump failed. I get that

You fit 2nd hand pump, and now you have a hesitation
How do you know the 2nd hand pump is good, and not causing your issue?

The pressure control valve is in the high pressure fuel pump.
There can be some bending on the return pipe/hose to tank when removed for change of the lp pump in tank.

I checked the pump before installing, and with the old pump there was just a dribble out of the Schrader valve, with the 'new pump' I get a squirt about 2.5cm high out the Schrader valve, therefore in my mind pump is working 100% more effective than the old.

Could this valve on the LP pump be a problem?
