Any High milage d4 on original engine thread?! What’s yours?
Just wondering what milage people have got from there original d4 3.0 sdv6 engine without issues, so original engine and gearbox, seems it’s a pure luck thing if you get a good one or they have issues, I know poor maintenance has a part as well.

2013 lower bhp 210 it’s on 145000 miles as far as I am aware it’s all original drivetrain. Nothing mentioned in the service information from when it was owned by lex leasing? I got it with around 100,000 miles mid 2016.
Hopefully it will last forever as it’s one of the best Land rovers I have owned!Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Great stuff !
I’m a mechanic and where I work we have a diagnostic tool called autologic, so you have access to main dealer technicians I was chatting to one the other day who was at lr during the d4 years he said it’s a real lottery, he and his colleagues started to feel there was a sweet spot around later of 2010/2011 and into early 2012 where they saw fewer engine failures, but he said there where still a few that came through broken cranks is the common one as low as 11k they saw a failure !
But from reading up about them it would seem purely luck, I think we had 5 Range Rover sport with engine seize solid at work, all been 61 reg weirdly.

You’re right, it’s open to all, but I guess the older vehicles have done the most miles.
I think you’re right about it being luck. I always used Shell diesel, never skimped on maintenance and kept my fingers crossed.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
