What price do you put on your safety and wellbeing

I have been working with a fellow D3 owner who was recently involved in a head on car crash, an on coming car crossed into his lane, the road was wet and both cars were travelling at 100km/hr.

The D3 owner can not remember the on coming car coming onto his side of the road, all he can remember was a white flash of the airbags and a loud noise. The other car was a Toyota corolla, the driver was rushed to hospital with major injuries, The D3 owner was admitted to hospital for monitoring and released the next day with only a sore neck.

Paramedics at the scene said they have never seen someone in such good condition after a high speed impact and said that buying the disco3 was the best investment he has ever made.

Shocked

Glad he's alright. Might print a couple of those and nail them to the head of the next Green to throw abuse at me
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Holy Cow Shocked

Glad he was OK.

And an amazing lack of damage TBH considering - even the LR lettering is still in place Shocked

Just goes to show that buying a smaller vehicle maybe is not the best idea as you have no control over the other vehicle coming towards you Twisted Evil

All I can say is: he walked away!

The lesson is clearly, if you rate personal safety, be careful what you buy/drive. Clearly, the D3 is a very safe car to sit in!

OMG. At least the Esky is alright. Wink

On this story I'm glad I have a D3.
Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

The other drive survived, he had a ruptured spleen, torn liver etc.

Car was a write off, Chassis must off been bent, there is a silver lining to the story, apparently the D3 was a petrol S model that was brought at a very good drive away special, Insurance replaced it with a Diesel S model as petrol S model are allegedly not available.

The accident happened several months ago and I imagine the car will be auctioned off at one of those “Write off” Auctions.
Trust me, what could go wrong?

Good job the other vehicle was a light car with off-set impact.
The D3 would have kept moving in the same direction....anything is better than being reversed instantly.

Being hit by something also weighing two and a half tons ....... would be a different matter.

Front right tyre is still inflated ........ excellent impact energy distribution in our D3's Thumbs Up
