Agreed.
Someone mentioned oil pressure. This only does a light on the dash.
Coolant temp sensor is grey and in the pipes at the front of the engine bay. Change if you already changed oil temp
Later models

I said and meant oil temp sensor, not coolant temp sensor
Said sensor is in the side of the sump, costs under 30 quid, takes longer to get undertay off than it does to replace said sensor.

Thanks Pete. I’ve looked on AF and it looks like it’s part of that coolant hose. Mine is euro 4 so later model. Not sure if that’s the correct part. Jarrod

I think some ppl say the external sensor has an influence, but I find it hard to believe myself.
Looks like it’s the same coolant sensor for all years from eBay.
I thought one had the connector at a different angle, but got that wrong

Oil temp sensor, screws into left sde of the sump, no need to drain oil to change so long as you swap quickly.
Iirc the oil temp sensor and the oil pressure sensor are somehow tied in together.
Mine was all over the place when weather was cold until engine was up to operating temp.
To all: Thank you very much! It was indeed the oil temp sensor.
I changed it with the annual oil change. It starts much more smooth, independent from the temperature.
Best regards

Ok, I was happy to soon.
Temperatures are falling...... and its running like crap after the start.
Yesterday I checked the glow plugs. I changed all six last year. And now I found that two of them are not working......... again!!
any suggestion which brand or type of glow plug will life longer than one year?
Delphi?
Denso?
Bosch?
Beru?
Does anyone know which brand the original one is?
best regards
Roland

I thought I used a genuine part but after checking my old orders its just an "unnamed" OEM quality part.
