[Withdrawn] Cat N Vandalised Discovery 3 SE
Withdrawn. After careful thought, and taking lots of advice from many different people, I am KEEPING my car. I will not beaten. I will continue with the car diary which will obviously be focussing on the restoration for a while. Going to need all the help I can get to get this done in time for the demands of my insurance company.

if you can prove your neighbour did the damage then he should be liable to make the damage good via the police/courts/solicitors.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

This case is already going through solicitors. I have claimed on my insurance which is why it is a Cat N again now as of today. Just waiting to hear how much they are willing to pay as the first offer was too low.
I have been quoted £400 so far to have rear quarter panels painted, and found a bonnet and 2 doors for £220 total, so £620 to repair that damage plus a touch up kit to do the wing or replace the wing, Around £700 total I recon based on prices so far to put the paintwork right. But I need a faster solution ideally. As in, sell this, add it to the money from the insurance company and buy an Auto next instead of a manual.
But as said in the advert, after a week, I should have the money from my insurance, and I will be getting on and repairing it to keep it.

Replacement doors and an upgrade bumper that has parking sensors in have been sourced now. Just got to collect them. So now just the bonnet to find.

I am gay, they are homophobic. Not the only vehicle that they have vandalised either. Police fully involved and they are being arrested shortly. Can't put anywhere exactly when as I don't want the woman involved to run

I was thinking it was disco envy, but that's way worse. No place for it in this day and age and hopefully they will get the punishment they deserve.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Stuff like this amazes me nowadays, how small minded must they be!
Anyway good luck with the police, I would like to think they will be on the case.

Send the B/turds a Xmas card with all your love.
Don’t let them get away with it. I hope the cops don’t let it slip.
Good luck

Hi,
as an alternative to repairing/painting
take the money from the insurance,
rattle can the scratches,
DIY wrap/sticker over the words
there has just been a post of a good bonnet wrap 8)
and then just run it, dont think you will get a cheaper, known history car than your own
(know you have mentioned the Auto and you may not Want to keep your's now )
just a thought ( I may be biased as we ran the D2 that we (I) rolled for another year or two full respray required )

Agree with the other guys above, shame it's lockdown otherwise we could have organised a visit of about a dozen Discos (and a Skoda) all flying rainbow flags and see how they like that
Wrapping it sounds like a really good solution as it's a shame to part with it after all that hard work, or just spray it in camo colours then no-one would know I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
