possible to remove the camshafts with the body on? |
|
Hi all,
Has anyone replaced the RH camshafts (and lash adjusters) in an SDV6 in-situ? I'm just wondering if the brake vacuum pump keyed into the exhaust cam can be re-installed without taking the body off?
Thanks all. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place... I just joined the forum today

Vac pump can be changed on its own, its very tight for room but doable with body on.

Thanks Flack.
I notice from the workshop manual:
• NOTE: Apply silicone gasket sealant or equivalent meeting Land Rover specification.
• NOTE: The application of sealant must be 10 mm square in two places. Install the brake vacuum pump immediately after applying the sealant.
• NOTE: The brake vacuum pump should be fitted directly to the engine without smearing the sealant.
'Without smearing the sealant' in a tight place.....
