Garage recommendations in the South East |
|
Just wondering if anybody had suggestions for a garage (to replace the rear section of the brake pipes) in the South East. Preferably in the Sussex area, but Hampshire/Surrey/Kent may not be the end of the world.
Equally, any places I may want to avoid, such as the main dealer I've recently been to but won't be going back to.
TIA, Joe.

Have you considered Eliot Engineering - quite local to you and used by a few people on the forum ( inc Pelyma). They have recently replaced the rear brake pipes for me ( in addition to overhauling the EPB) - I have used them over the last couple of years and have been very happy with their work / the experience

Thanks for the replies guys.
@Greenmole that is one of the places I'd found online, along with NPS Engineering, and Mad 4x4. It's reassuring to hear good things about them. Was it the rear section of the steel pipes they replaced for you? If so do you mind me asking roughly what that cost?

+1 for Elliott Engineering.
Not used them for a few years but they did the big belt change service and other bits on our old D3. I would recommend them. MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone
MY05 D3 TDV6 SE Zambezi silver Auto Alpaca leather - Gone

Re the costs - not sure how the work was split - however the total cost (inc parts & VAT) was £450. Would imagine around half of that was to replace the pipes given the time involved. Probably worth ringing them and they will give you a ball park figure.
Just to confirm, it was the rear pipes.

I use CR Allen in Peacehaven. Always done a good job for me. They are a bit busy but I guess that’s a good sign.
