Thanks for all the kind messages, it's certainly a relief to have it running. The engine cost around £3.5k, bearing in mind that it is fully reconditioned and timed (something I'd never attempt) it seems like a reliable choice. While it came from a reputable supplier, I don't want to name them as the engine is not run in yet, and if there's one thing that working on this has taught me its not to be complacent.
