2nd row seats reading lights with or without AC controls?
Hey! The previous owner had removed the 2nd-row seats reading lights panel from the ceiling and replaced it with DVD player, which is now non-functional. I want to get the lights back but have struggled to get information which version of lights unit is needed.
My car is 2006 V8 HSE.
There seem to be two versions of the lights units:
What would be the best way to know which one I should get? I was looking at cables that are found from the hole in the ceiling, and one of them does have a sticker with AC mentioned. See pics below. But is that related? Help would be much appreciated!

Easiest way to tell if your car has rear climate is to open the boot and remove the L/H trim panel "door" and if there is a blower motor in that space then it has rear climate which means you need the light with the extra heater switches Otherwise it is a space to store the removable towbar.

Awesome thanks for the help, this solved it. I apparently don't have climate controls for back seats.

I realised that too. Not sure what went wrong with Rimmer Bros site links... Anyway these were the two options I was looking at:

Or check the front panel on the dash to see if has the on/off button for the rear

Yup, no button on dash for the second row. Just ordered one with blanks from eBay. It's getting dark here so was time to fix the thing!
Thanks all!

Following with interest! Mine has the DVD player in the rear, which I can't ever see me using. But had though it needed some of the headlining to be cut away to fit, so didn't think I could switch back to 'normal' lights. If it all works would you be able to post some pictures? Pretty please.

@11891952 I will take pics of the situation now over the weekend, and report back on progress.

Okay so I got one step further with this just today. Hopefully @11891952 you'll find the photos useful.
First, I had this old ass Rosen DVD player in the ceiling, that had stopped ejecting discs long ago. Kids were watching plenty of Pocahontas the past years...
Underneath the DVD player, someone had built a wooden thingy to make it fit. This holder was essentially covering the area of light and the alarm sensor dome.
Everything removed, I found this to be the situation. It looked to me like the reading light hole (bigger one) was factory-made, so I ordered a second-hand unit from ebay to fill it. The part number for me (no rear climate control) was XDE500420.
And ta-da, it all fits perfectly. The cables were also altered to fit into Rosen, but I was lucky that whoever did the changes, also had left the original connector there. So it was all plug and play. It is a bit ugly with all the holes, but I think it's still better than non-functional DVD player.
I'm still waiting for the alarm system sensor dome to fill the smaller hole. It should be here in a few days... Reporting continues.

The photographs are much appreciated. And looks as though the sensor dome will cover the other one leaving only a couple of small holes. Sounds as though mine might be coming off soon to investigate! Thanks!

And by the way, the black screws visible on the roof lining around the reading light hole are for additional reinforcement. In order for the flimsy roof to hold the weight of the heavy DVD unit, someone has added metal bars that connect the inner ceiling/roof to somewhere more sturdy higher up. I didn't yet remove them, and most likely will get used to having them there...
