2013MY - Adding 'My POI'

First up you need to download some speed camera or other interest .gpx files from the likes of www.pocketgpsworld.com - load them on to a USB stick and then slot it into the usb socket in the centre cubby ...load the files up individually and then they can be edited via the menus shown in the video.

What looks like pints of beer on the M25 should actually be the cameras on the gantries ...I dont think I loaded a camera icon for the Gatsos properly so I suspect the system has assigned it's own Laughing Have to look at that later.

Overall they appear accurate and work well with the audible warning at around 100yrds out which is a ding dong or bell sound depending on what you select.

Very easy to do Thumbs Up

I thought 'The Jam' playing 'That's Infotainment' was a nice touch.

Does this only work on 2013MY or also on earlier D4 MYs?

It's a feature from 2013my on H ...I think that some of the 2012my are awaiting to hear if their software can be upgraded.

So I just created a gpx file that I made from waypoints of the Strata Florida route, however the car does not see the file Big Cry

Any ideas why the car cant see the GPX ?

I presume that my file format is incorrect.

Not sure it will be able to understand waypoints Andrew ...the only way I guess would be to make each waypoint a poi Confused Are you including a graphical image ? How does each file line read ? e.g. blahblah.gpx ?

I was told that one could create your own POI or waypoint by creating a gpx file. I think I need to do a bit more investigating.

Any idea on how to set an uploaded POI as a destination? The gpx file appears to upload fine and I can change its icon, turn sound on off, edit name, etc. However, when I try to pick one of them as destination from the list in the "Downloaded POI" screen, I get a "No corresponding POI close" error, whatever that means.

I am basically trying to save a number of trail heads and camping spots using a "point and shoot" system like Google Maps, so that I can upload their coordinates in gpx format and set them as a destination the next time I want to go there. I must be doing something wrong, I thought that's what being able to upload "My POI" was all about?

Ah right I see what you mean ...how are you arranging the folder on your USB stick ? You should have the .gpx file and a corresponding .bmp file (i.e. the icon). Can you give examples of the files in your folder ? Smile
