Just an update , when I ordered mid Sept I was told del end of Oct into Nov, asked for an update 10th Nov and got a call later that day to say all 2020 builds are now cancelled and any future builds will be MY2021 .
So instructed to resubmit order as per new specs , reorderd on a S spec which worked about £4000 less than original Sept SE order .
Got a call yesterday saying as LR/Finance not offering any incentives like previous order the monthly payments will increase by £70 per month , del March/April .
Considering this weekend whether to go ahead or cancel and deposit back .

£840 a year extra for a lower spec cheaper car for an order cancelled by LR. Me personally, I’d walk. There are plenty of good / better alternatives out there. The other bonus is you don’t have to put up with Land Rover’s poor service. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

It’s no secret that the D5 isn’t my favourite LR but, even if it had been, I wouldn’t accept a £70 per month increase for a down specced version of what I’d originally agreed to. I would bite their hand off for a refund; especially if you include lightly used, there are plenty of very interesting alternatives out there 👍 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4

2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200

I’ve never tried the Thule bars, I’ve only had the standard LR ones on the Fatty. However, there’s no getting away from the fact that the D4 had robust aluminium rails, while the Fatty’s are made from soft plastic, sprayed silver to make them look like aluminium. I fitted the cross bars twice and had to have the rails repainted twice in order to repair the damage to the rails. I’ve now not used the bars since (for nearly 3 years now!). 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

What you also now have to factor in, is the B word.
My new 90 is due March and I have no idea what it will cost, I’ve been told by my dealer and LR that the £48k price at the moment won’t be honoured. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Hadn’t considered that! Of course, assuming no deal, there’ll not only be 10% added to the price of the imported vehicle, but there’ll be a further 10% added to components shipped out from the U.K. which will probably include the engine. The £ may well lose 10% of its value overnight as well 🙁 A £48,000 Defender may well be nudging £60,000 by the spring. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Carwow is a little
I obtained 5 quotes for the ID3 and I went back to the most expensive to tell him he was the most expensive and he dropped the price by £4k if we did a direct deal. (Pick it up on Tuesday)
I bought my PHEV back in 2015 via Carwow but it we never competitive for the purchase of a CH-R in 2019. I sensed that the dealers were playing the system as most quoted RRP when I actually ended up with £4800 off via AutoEbid
Used Carwow recently for a PHEV Defender 110 quote and was quoted RRP. Only one dealer messaged me and I told them that I would wait as I believe a price correction is inevitable.

Components that are imported to be used in manufacturing units for export are entitled to inward processing relief so that duties don't compound. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

My order would be cancelled in that case. If they can't honour a contract then they won't get my money. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I don’t have to take delivery they say if it’s unaffordable. I’ll let the car arrive and then it’s work a deal or they’re stuck with a £50k+ car. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

The 2021 car should be the better upgrade, but I wouldn’t want the price increase Mike
