Rear suspension bush change, now have poss issue
Evening all
Today i changed all the bushes in the rear suspension (got lucky again, every bolt came out easy with no problems)
on re-assembly she is now sitting quite a bit higher on one side
i have checked everything is connected ie the ride height sensor and all looks ok
the suspension is working on both sides it just seems to have gone out of kilter
could it be it just need to be run up the road to even out or should it have done it without that
it has to go in for 4 wheel alignment next , could it be because the settings are obviously out now although it doesn't look out to the eye
thanks in advance for any advice
Cheers

Did you actually change the bushes or the arms? If you've changed the arms, then the ride hight will want calibrating for sure. The height sensors don't move very far, and the manufacturing tolerances in the new arms will make a difference.Richard

ahh that may be the cause
i changed the top arms, but not for new ones but the old ones from last time i changed them, had them shot blasted then painted and re- bushed them and swapped them out,
did not change the bottom arms due to not having spares ,so removed them , cleaned up re-painted and re bushed then re fitted
Cheers

I guess it’s obvious. But ensure car is out of gear and park brake off for it to settle

Now you did measure from centre of wheel to wheel arch before tightening nuts up. A four wheel alignment will also be required.

GT is saying you are meant to put a jack under the hub and set it to the normal road height position before tightening the bush bolts.
Well you do in the fronts (that I did yesterday )
I had the deflate the suspension one side to do it
I’d use the key for that next time

If you’ve done it all by the book and it’s still not right then recalibrate the suspension heights with gap toolMetal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes, pads, callipers, flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)
