Hi,

I dont have either, but I did buy another one, cant remember what it was, and its not up to scratch. I personally am waiting till I can afford the IID based on what I have read on here. Its a bit of a chicken and egg at the moment, need the cash to do repairs, but the IID would help. They do come up on here occasionally around the £300-350 mark for the blutooth version.

Like I say at the moment I am keeping my money till I can afford the IID.

Cheers
Paul

What do you need to do with it ?

Is it the small 930 ? Or wider one your lookin at?

I have the Icarsoft and actually it's alright.

Doesn't do programming but its a perfectly useful fault code reader.
I have a Jaguar XF and a Discovery 3 and it works perfectly well on both at sensible cost

It is a pretty decent tool for the money
Mine read all the same ecus as the IID does, injector trim levels etc.
For the money damned good.

Not as user friendly as the IID, but that is not perfect either!

Great for the money. Works well as a code reader. Does reset faults, steering angle and hand brake etc.

I have an iCarsoft i930 which was given to me by a customer who was selling his D3. It will read all the codes and present live values, but it can't do calibrations of any sort.

The V2 is an upgrade on this, and whilst it can allow work on the EPB, and recalibrate the SAS, etc. I don't think it can calibrate anything in the suspension. Given it is half way towards the cost of an IID perhaps you would be better to wait?

If you do buy how much of it would you get back when you upgrade to the IID?

Decent little tool though!

I've got an iCarsoft unit, haven't tried it on the Disco yet, but seems to work well on everything I've plugged it into so far. As mentioned it won't do the programming side of things, but for fault code reading and service actions, you should be okay.

I lost 10 quid in the year I owned my i930.

I think Island 4x4 do them and also perhaps Advanced Factors. Thumbs Up

Cheers for the reply, Thumbs Up
Can't see them on Advanced Factors and island 4x4 only seem to do the cheaper one

Maybe Advanced don't do diagnostics but a quick Google search should get you better results.
Sometimes they do come up for sale on here, but I think it tends to be the i930.

Yes I think you are right
I just want to use a decent company, hopefully someone who bought one will see this and advise.
Only need a basic reader but would love an IID to play with Thumbs Up but can't justify one
