Hi all,
Don’t really want to upgrade my headlight clusters to the old fish eye lights...(don’t know their real name) as 1, I haven’t really got the money & 2, I really haven’t got a clue what I’m doing....TBH!!! 😄🤣😂
What I wanted to know is if anyone has changed the standard H7 bulbs to LED ones off eBay just a straight swap without anything further?
If you have do you have any recommendations?!

Waste of time I take it...just go for standard H7 for sipped and main and I believe H11 for fogs?

Is it worth replacing fog or main beams ?
Some ppl swear by osram nightbraker. You could try a pair.
I’d save for D3 hids as easy to fit headlights

If so....
It is not always the technique
Start with really CLEAN mirrors and lenses.... what looks ok, is not necessary ok... especially if headunits are 10 years or more old...they are always slightly dirty somehow
(Yes i know, the chromed plastic mirrors are almost impossible the clean without damage) the lenses Although are...
Then..
fresh bulps with the correct light colour...
Blue tipped halogens give less light than the same bulp without that colour filter, although people use to think, it looks colder/cooler it is brighter, but it is a filter/overlay in the end.. so it can’t be clearer!
(People who think they do.. mind tricks, imho)
If everything is 100% bright regarding mirror and lenses... and you want more light from the same unit... you can go to rally spec halogens, (more watt’s up to 100w can be bought (i do not know if every bulp model is in rally spec available) although in most country’s that is illegal on the open road..
Same with LED... all other circumstances (mirror and lenses) do have to be 100% first if not... upgrading does not make much sense (only for your mind and ego)
But then... LED .....the colour and output... There are good and bad ones.... also for legitimate use, i think the output in Watt should not be more than the output in Watt of the original bulp normally, but... who will measure that on the other hand.. 8)
Regarding colour..
4300K is ideal (halogen = 2700K approx...) but colder as 4500k is debatable... colder than 6000k Is rather quick, less Light output than between 4300k and 6000k
Bottom line.
Your old or newer units have to be 100% clean first.. if not... waste of time and money to “upgrade” Best regards

Hi,
I fitted these to my Land Rover very easy and look amazing. As long as you have projector lenses then they don’t look bad at all but if not wouldn’t recommend.

I won’t question your experience, but for me:
3 alarm bells...
The quote’s:
-Upgraded
-Extremely Bright
-12000 Lumens (seems impossible to me...example: 1,600 lm in halogen needs 72 Watt, in LED you need 14–17 Watt. Do the math in what you need to get 12000 lm Best regards

Tbh the numbers I know don’t make sense as long as the output and look was clean I was happy to try it.
Installed in both my Land Rover and smart car

Don’t want to be a party pooper,
If any light was designed for a incandescent bulb it must stay that way to be legal (this was my last understanding when I was in that line of work). I am happy to be corrected if things have changed
Plus if you make an old car stand out with super bright headlight then you will attract attention
I would look at auxiliary light as they can be LED and not cause to many issues 2005 D3 SE Auto, zermatt silver
Gearbox flush by terrain vehicles
V8 brake upgrade

I don’t think the rules have changed to be fair. I have tried to keep them looking clean and not stand out too much from normal xenon look.
Have had them for a while now without any problems.
Been trying to find a way to upload picture from phone didn’t work.
