P0900 help

Hi all, I have a p0900 clutch actuator open circuit, checked through everything I can find, battery is new, no corrosion on or in the contact or transfer case ecu. So where is the actuator or is the fault perhaps elsewhere? Its the only one that keeps coming back.
I have the no special functions and no low range selection.
Thanks in advance!

Check the plug connections on the "clutch" master cylinder. The switch tells the PCM and other modules the exact position of the clutch pedal, allowing things like hill start to release the handbrake, etc.

The only plug on the master cylinder is the impact sensor. Where do you mean? I have checked all I can find on the gearbox, all seem good with no. Corrosion, checked the connections above the rear diff, no obvious breaks or bad connections. What are the 3 plugs on the transfer box? Could it be one of them is faulty? Thankyou!

The clutch master cyl attached on the clutch pedal, check the switch connections. If you have live values on your diagnostic tool you can watch the operation of the clutch.

My diagnostics don't have that, there are no other electrical connections on the cylinder.

That's great but there are no connections on that! So from where does it get the position signal? Tganks

The signal is generated by the switch on the clutch master cylinder. This tells the relevant modules via the parking brake module, how far the clutch is depressed on a scale of 0% to 100%, (fully depressed)

It seems odd your's does not have that connection Shocked Does the handbrake release automatically when moving off if you tip the throttle?
The only other possibility I can think of is there is a problem with the wiring to the transfer case clutch actuator. Alternatively, it's in the TCM itself, behind the battery!

Water ingress is not uncommon, or there could be a damaged FET in there.

Even on the link you sent me there is only one electronic connection for the impact sensor. Is that the one that wants changing?

The connection on the master cyl is the clutch position sensor, not an impact sensor. In any case check the TCM behind the battery and the wiring to the transfer box.
