Rear locking differential info
This is as an option for the Disco III , but I would like to know how this works on it. Is it engaged automatically or manually? Is it worth it? How is the diferentials installation before it and how after it? Other info welcomed. Thanks.

It's automatic; you have no control. The Disco 3 even without a locking rear differential is excellent off road, so I'm not sure I'd miss it. It's only a factory build option and can't be installed later.

Actually the demo Slimer did for us with Rays instruction... showed us that it does help in certain situations...
I think it helps, need to do a comparisson one on these days over the same bit of terrain with and without one.
My thoughts with getting it were: it's not that expensive to add on, can only be added as a factory option and who knows when a 3rd party alternative we be availableThe End

I have driven both and there is a difference. All the LRE D3's have added diffs at Eastnor. They will deal with most terrain with relaltive ease, even thought the standard configuration is excellent. I doubt if Slimer had any problems at all in Wales.
