doesn't have to block your rear view anymore - you can use the same stuff they use on buses resulting in you being able to see out just fine, but looks like a full image from the outsideformerly Disco3Ben

Its essentially free advertising, driving round in sign written car
I have my D3 (which needs redone, as I'm no longer mobile) and my Freelander 2 as a courtesy car, that my customers drive around for me, and the sister in law has her FL2 signwritten too. Not that she had much of a choice in that
Are you not technically a specialist in making immobile Land Rovers mobile again ?
On the original topic - get a really clear steer from your insurance on what the impact of having it sign written will be - you may end up with all sorts of clauses around stock in transit etc that may not make it worthwhile05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system

We did look at these but not 100% sure as they only come in one size!
But you could get one for the rear doors too and make the one long two section sign (on both front & rear door) -?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

The indy I use has 10 courtesy cars, all red Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1/Peugeot 106 all with his garage name and phone number and fleet number in a big circle (1-10)
He gives them out free with services etc to people he knows well enough, or charges new customers £20 returnable deposit which they get back if it comes back with the same amount of fuel in.
I see them all over the place round here so he Is getting his name out there for a good 20 mile radius.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

I bought a D3 which had be signed up by one business, and subsequently by another owner. Trying to remove all of this, some has been difficult and some near impossible.
Most of the work was vinyl wrap which can be printed with graphics, photos and much more. It seems to weather well, but narrow strips and protrusions tend to lift. It is easy to remove with heat, and on this vehicle the paintwork underneath was virtually unmarked.
Large text was done with adhesive sign vinyl, probably intended for durable application to shopfronts and similar. It is very difficult to remove, and chemicals in the adhesive have damaged the paint underneath.
After complete removal of lettering I was puzzled to see etching on the glass, from two different businesses. I found this is because the factory window tint is film stuck to inside of windows - bleaching by UV light has created a permanent impression of text on the film.
If residual value is a consideration, be careful in your choice of materials.Chris

Sorry to hear that.
One correction, though. darkened factory glass is not a film but instead a pigment that’s part (inside) the glass itself. Dealer or other aftermarket tints tend to be films. The cheaper ones do turn violet, too, in a few years time.

Maybe that is fitter specific? I have used Pentagon Supaglass in Reading (UK) several times over the past 5 years for my LandRovers. The Supaglass is the security film (which is excellent) but they also do tinting which also comes with a lifetime warranty.
I'm not associated with them but I thoroughly recommend their work...

Cheap vinyl on paint will shrink and lift at the edges, whereas the good stuff won't allow the paint underneath to fade like the rest of it.
I always had the good 5-7 year stuff on my trucks, and when it was removed, in some lights, you could always see where it had been, which is why on the Disco I only wanted it on the glass.
You can't win really, but at least it's not as bad as a full wrap, where if you go too close to a roadside bush the whole panel could need doing again.

I knew someone who used vinyl magnetic backed signs, which he’d attach when he wanted to advertise.
I also remember that his insurance company weren’t pleased about it, so check with them first before getting any signage done.
