D3 EGR fault
2009 disco 3 lots of flashing lights on the dash and then goes in to limp mode. Switch ignition off/on fault disappears, then is ok for a few more miles.Fault, when diagnosed says EGR so I had them blanked off and errors reset. Drove for about 30 miles and the same thing happens, obviously not the EGR valve, any ideas.
Cheers

I was always told that EGRs need to be free of faults when blanked, i.e. for the software update to work, which is needed for post 2007 models and which I assume has been done on yours. However, you should also check that the sensors attached to the EGR valves are disconnected. Leaving the plugs connected after blanking can generate faults typically pointing to airflow issues. The latter I have experienced myself.

Hi,
Thanks, going back into the LR garage tomorrow so I'll make sure they have done that.
Thanks for your suggestion.

I blanked my 2007 EGR’s off when they were working well with no light on and I’ve not had a dash light come on! It drives fantastic since blanking them.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Hi Any post 2007 TDV6 engine is a Euro4 and the software on this does a lot more communication with the EGRs than the Euro3 - the patch is the only way to ensure you don’t get the fault messages
Out of interest who was the garage that did the removal in Lincoln?Must stop buying shiny toys....

Isn't it unlawful to blank EGR. Wouldn't like to post those details on an open forum

No Not unlawful to do it - just unlawful to drive it on the road....
However if an MOT tester doesnt see it then it cant really be a problem
PM me if you can though as its just out of personal interest...Must stop buying shiny toys....
