Disco 5 wheels & tyres on my disco 4?
Ok folks, have been offered a set of disco 5 wheels to fit on my disco 4 by a mate of mine as he upgraded his wheels on his new disco. Question is... will they fit my 4 ??, will they touch or rub any where ?? will the TPMS still work ?? any other disadvantages you can think of..... please help, thanks in advance

I believe the D5 shares the same stud pattern as the D4, so no issues there.
But you'll need to know the tyre size, specifically the profile?
And as stated above, weight load (the D5 is lighter than a D4)?
Also what is the wheel offset (though I'd expect it to be the same as the D4 wheels - but worth checking)?
TPMS should still work ok imo....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

D5 offset is different to D4, but its lower if I recall so the wheel should sit futher out in the arch. Not sure of weight rating on D5 alloys, but tyre spec is usually the killer. Whats the tyre size and weight rating on what you are being offered?

I used to have a D5 on lease, the bolt pattern is the same as a D4 - 5x120. But, the overall diameter on the D5 is bigger, I think the D5's wheels are overall about 1 inch bigger in diameter (more or less). D4's wheels are 30". So you may need to fit new rubber around the wheel to compensate. Either that or just stick it on as is, but remember to notify your insurance if you put them on as is. Insurance will class this as a modification to the vehicle and insurance companies LOVE an excuse to not pay.
my Disco 5 had an offset of just +39 on its 20" wheels which is compared to +47 on the D4 so your tyres will stick out a little bit. I think the D4 and D5 brakes are the same, so it should clear the calipers without worry. D4's are a bit heavier than a D5 by about 300kg so the wheels should be up to the challenge of the D4s additional weight, but double check that to be safe. Mike

19" or 20" D5 and D4 wheels are the same diameter, its the tyre size that makes the difference, nothing to do with the wheels themselves - a 20" rim is a 20" rim.

I did specify "overall" in my previous post. And I also said about fitting new rubber to compensate for the excess inch. But yes a 20" rim is a 20" rim Mike
