275/65/R18 Tyres
So I've definitely decided to go with 265/60/18's for my "off road" wheels as they are so close to the stock 30" size, also, you can get some really decent AT and MT brands in that size too.
But just out of curiosity and for future reference when the D4 gets older and I'm less worried about its shinyness. Has anybody here fitted 275/65/R18 (32") Tyres to their D4 or "LR4?" and if so, what can you tell me about rubbing?
The need of a lift?
And the three suspension heights, lifted and not lifted?
And also turning your front wheels to full lock?
I've had a look around youtube and google but people are talking about trimming bumpers and stuff and I'm not sure about that. Plenty of people insisted to fit 265/75/R16's to my D2 I'd have to trim bumpers, I bought a £10 tyre from ebay in that size to test and it wasn't true. No trimming required but the overall change was over 9% more than stock, so, I went with 245/75/16's which is only 5% bigger than stock...
Many thanks for all the advices and suggestions here and in the other thread.Mike

probably agree with the above but im running BFG KO2’s with 265/65R18 on compomotives. In my case I have got some strange road noise at arounf 25-35 mph but everyone else who I have spoken to who have run these on their D4 say no noise at all. I still love them though and no rubbing whatsoever D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

I went for the PD1881's from Compomotive. They are UK based, they are tried and tested on a multitude of D4's so... pardon the pun... don't reinvent the wheel as they say! Mike

Just said in another thread, but I also run the 265/65/18 BFG KO2 and Compo wheel combo.
Painless setup, 2nd D4 with these wheels and tires. Minor rubbing on the frame horns only while reversing at full lock.. goes away after a short while of wear.2016 D4 HSE Lux

285/60 R18 here.
I think the D4 is the same as later D3s. Height isn't the issue for rubbing, it's lock and bit of the chassis behind the front wheels (not present in early D3s). The rub really isn't that bad. I actually trimmed a bit off the chassis to make more room for them.
Last pic lowered with 30mm spacers. Still only rubs on front at hard lock.
