Moist Feet!
Afternoon!
Long time lurker, thought I would register and share a small issue.
We’ve had our Disco3 for 11 years now, and pretty much had everything that can go wrong, go wrong, but still love it!
I’ve been fighting a drivers side footwell damp issue for a couple of years, no sunroof so it’s not the drain tubes, so this morning I got the 14 year old son to pour water on the car from several different locations to track the leak.
Turns out water is weeping through a join between two panels behind the black wiring connection thing on the front corner, it seems there is a lack of seam sealer in that section.
I took the arch liner out, and had a peek, looks like there is a cavity behind that section, and below the air intake is bloody great hole that looks like it has a plastic bag full of foam stuffed in it.
When I squidge the bag, water pours out of some of the little holes on the inner wing.
Should the rubber air intake pipe be sealed to the body to avoid water pouring into this section, or am I missing something?
Cheers!

In front of the door, behind the panel where your ankle would hit when your foot is on the throttle.
I haven’t looked into the photo side of this yet, as photobucket ruined me.

The foam filled bag is there for sound-deadening purposes. Others have said it fills with water and IIRC replaced it with closed-cell foam..

Why not fix the location of the leak - picture of location would be good.

I'd have a look under the abs module area etc to see if you can find where the leak is; right down into the corner. It should be bone dry. The bonnet seal can fail here allowing water through. Water also drains off the screen at the hinges and pistons into that sort of area, around the intake etc.. that is by design if you will. It should go straight out the bottom but if pooling for some reason, there could be rot or seal decay.

Hi
If I may add to what everyone else has already said , also had a slight leak in the front footwells section, used an endoscope and saw that the rain would run down the panel and pass the door connector that wasn’t installed correctly allowing the water to pass into the footwell
Indeed if ur be able to share a pic will help a lot
Hope that may also help, sorry for the bad pic
