How to repair worn rubber trim ?

The rubber trim down the side of the drivers door pillar has a piece about six inches which is worn through, due to getting in and out. Tape would look horrible. Any other ideas please.

This might help:-

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-CFE500580BLACK

at £19.50 it's less expensive than replacing the whole door seal.

Have a look at this thread too:-

Or remove it and reposition it under the sill protector.

So I could cut out the worn bit, slide it up, then put the worn bit under the cill protector. Like that, thanks.

No need to cut it out, remove the sill protector, remove the rubber putting the worn piece so it is where the sill protector will be, then refit the rubber and sill protector.
All ok till you remove the sill protector and find it has been done before.

We must have our wires crossed somewhere. Just had a look. The rubber which is worn through, is the hollow piece which crushes when the door closes. It remains visible the whole way around, and is just outside the cill protector.

No, same on mine, at the bottom the rubber goes under the sill protector so you don’t catch it with your feet getting in and out.

Was thinking on moving my trim around.
So how is this plastic sill plate removed?

Just gently pull it up, it’s held in place with jesus clips like the panel below the steering wheel.

Just noticed that this is on the D4 forum, mine is a D3. Apologies if I have put it in the wrong place.
