Quick Question - Battery Bungs
Hi all
Bit of a newbie question for you.
Just received a new battery for the Disco, a Tayna EA1000.
I understand I have to remove the transport bungs.
My question is does this battery come with 1 or 2 bungs?
I have removed the bung on the negative side, which is red, but there is another black bung on the opposite side. Do I need to remove this too?
I don't want to accidentally pull something off that's meant to be there!
Thanks

generally red is positive and black is negative on DC electrics make sure you can clearly identify which is which as terminal covers for negative and positve will not fit on each other as the terminals are a different size05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system

It's not the terminal cover, it's this thing...

Thanks Moo, I'll give it a pull with the pliers then. Just threw me a bit with it being black instead of red, also has a slightly different shape!

There should be a tube connected to that bung which allows for the drain off of any gases or fluids which would otherwise have a corrosive effect on body metal!
It should ob on your old battery, just swap over yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Remove one plug and connect the pipe, leave the other plug in, or the battery will gas from both holes. The pipe is to take a 'theoretical' acid leak outside of the engine bay, but modern sealed batteries don't leak (often).Richard

Every day is a school day. I've always removed both. Ill block one and leave the other connected to the pipe.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
