I am lucky enuff to have a 2003 v8 4.4 m62tu lpg converted as my daily its low milage rust free and trouble free I have also helped rebuild one of these engines with a new bottom end failure was caused by owner neglect. I think they are amazing engines and cars. Wife runs the D3 but its derv I would have preferd a petrol v8 on lpg but they are silly money and as we know rare to find.
I will when required do the chain and guides on the L322 when needed. The jag engine 4.2 is far superior

I think your point about rust on FFRR really relevant. From MY10-12 many cars suffer from rusty rear wheel arches, sills and upper tailgate. Apparently the quality of the steel used wasn’t so good due to higher recycled content. The earlier L322 were better in this regard. Unfortunately replacement panels are not available presently ( there’s a good thread on FullFatRR).
