Then you have a wire issue somewhere else or what ever signal your sending it via the light its not what it should be.
You need to back trace things as the signal from the light going into the module only is a trigger and assuming its 12v it should not be making the module reboot.
PS you now need to send it a new HE sms to repair your self to it.

Understood and thanks for checking - next I think I'll disconnect the headlight wire and try making the trigger directly from the battery and see if that causes it to reboot or not
I'm wondering if there's something odd going on with the aftermarket xenon lamps I have.... wouldn't have thought so as the trigger is on the supply side of the bulbs, but you never know...

failing that when you want it on just sms it ON or call it until it disconnects you and it will switch on .
Dont forget you need to re pair to it your self by sending HE from your phone to it.

yup i see you just paired to it.
PS,, sending sms a few times if you do not get a response from it only slows it down,, the reply's are only as fast as the gsm network allows and sending more will not speed it up..

so very low signal strength on it which explain the slow replys you may get.
For every 5 or 6 on the GSM its about the equivalent of 1 bar of normal phone signal.
From memory without going back over all the document's from the dev work it strength is 0-30, 30 meaning max signal. If you share that between 4 or 5 bars of phone signal it gives you an idea of its current signal strength

So think mystery solved on why it would reboot when I turned the lights on
this afternoon following re-soldering the blue trigger wire I remade the connections to ground (for the box and the temp sensor) and the positive terminal - same issue - fine on SMS, reboots when the lights turn on
I cut the blue wire - then simply touched it to positive for 2 secs....works perfectly - can turn on and off
So something odd must be going on with the blue/pink wire on the headlight plug used to trigger it - the change made was aftermarket Xenon bulbs (they have small external transformers on each lamp) - headlights work fine but obviously mess up the 12v signal
I've put in a momentary switch and will now see if I can get a separate wireless box to trigger a 2 second output and use a separate fob - but for now, if anyone else has this issue (or is thinking of aftermarket xenons - they are great, found via thread on here) some considerations
Thanks Pete for checking it out and confirming wiring issue!

your welcome, glad you fixed it, I knew it would be related somehow to the heat light trigger it was getting.
