[For Sale] OEM Expedition Rack
OEM Expedition Rack for sale.
I've tried to show condition - bear in mind it’s 14 years old and has had some use! There are some drilled holes where a cable was run from the rear pillar to front lights, and both rear corner covers have cracked/broken underneath. There are also some scratches to the main frame. It's cleaned up quite well with a 20 minute hose-down, I suspect that with some TLC with car polish/blackener it would scrub up quite nicely.
It has all of the required fixings - 4 rear fixings to attach to the roof rails, and the 2 front mounts with covers. To use the front mounts you need to have the rivnut-type fittings under the rubber strips (in front of roof rails) - the rack is entirely usable without these.
Location is North Shropshire (north of Shrewsbury), collection only, or via Disco3/4 courier network. I can help fit/load if required.
Coronavirus - will need to review collection in line with current lockdown with the buyer. This is a non-essential purchase! I will hold it indefinitely for the buyer and clean it further in preparation.

hey, my first post so why not make myself look like a complete fool
Interested in this but im just wondering how it attaches to the discovery, you say roof rails but are these the one embedded in the roof or the ones that stick up from the roof( if that makes sence XD) My disco 3 has a flat roof so wondering if i will need to purchase something else to be able to fit this
The rack fits onto "rails" that run from front to rear embedded in the roof. Usually the metal track starts a little way back from the windscreen, and the front mounts mentioned attach to a nut that is welded in the roof and concealed by the plastic trim strip.
There are also full length rails, and the rack fits also to them by repositioning the mounting brackets.
Without using a rack there are parts that fit across from side to side called "bars" that also fit into the rails. Things like cycle racks, ski racks, beacon bar, etc fit onto bars but can be used with the rack as well by fitting bars to the rack - not available from LR but from marques that had protruding rails as standard. Were available from Halfords until a few years ago so e-Bay/Gumtree is now the source.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. ^ not quite Gareth - the D4 GS won't have any roof rails... but short or long roof rails can be easily fitted
e.g. my GS before the modding started. So scubble will need those for this rack to fit

Taking in to account I'm only using my phone it looks from the pic that you will need the short rails as the rack comes with all other fixings from what I can see. I lost mine so swapped to extended rails.
If you buy and need help fitting let me know.

Hi Scubble, and welcome... firstly don't worry about making a fool of yourself on here... there's plenty of people who will do it for you
If you can wait a week or so I'm thinking of buying the extended rails so will have a set of short rails up for grabs ... and then follows many hours of working on under and over your D3
Enjoy..I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Can we on the forum organise a ladder for him as he's going to need one.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
