Find a half decent garage that sells Rain X, apply as per instructions on the bottle.
Advised a mate who’s wipers failed on his way to Cornwall from Thame, no issues as he applied it under the canopy at the services at Wheatley.

stick your head out of the window ... yeah, not ideal but visibility is better than through the windscreen. had to do it a few years back to get my lad's Punto off the motorway. not for the faint hearted..

after 2 hours AA guy arrived, checked fuse and relay, all OK.
Then with engine running and wiper switch in on position, he hit the driver side wiper arm quite hard near where it bolts on.
Wipers suddenly started working again. Hope that tip might help someone in future. I had tried wobbling the wipers to see if they were mechanically jammed, but not while the switch was in the on position, so thats worth remembering.
He suspects dodgy motor, and recommended I get it into dealer ASAP, at least it got me home.
I now face the perennial discussion with the dealer about warranty - as no doubt when I take it in, they will have me a sign a £180 to look at it document, and then tell me there is nothing wrong with it.
So if anyone has any advice on how to deal with that I would be most grateful.2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

Presumably you are talking about a LR warrantee & franchised dealer?
If not suggest you go to a decent indy.

yes it's under warranty approved used, so I have to use main dealer. But up to now they have been dreadful.2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

Not much help, but I guessed this was the case. This is why I took a Warranty Direct warrantee & use an indy for warranty work.
I still use the main dealer for an annual service to preserve goodwill, and in case of the dreaded crankshaft failure!

I hardly use my wipers - occasional manual swipe if I'm going slowly. RainX is superb - especially at night.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Ill get the proper one then. The anti fog is only £4 on amazon, so just thought it may be worth getting whilst doing the rain x, but wondered if anyone had used it.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

As above, Rain X, occasional flick when in town, above 40 rain blows off. Never had to use my screenwash, but dealer always leaves a bottle of screenwash in the footwell when the car is serviced as they cant get any in. Car is on service plan so I'm not paying for it as such. Rain X really comes into its own in the dark as visibility is so good

I have a bottle from when i had my Defender. I don't use it on the D4, but use it on the mirror in the bathroom. Stops it steaming up

I’ve only used it once, never again, I wouldn’t give it to my worst enemy. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
