I thought I’d post an update.
I finally got my D4 back three weeks ago, with a reconditioned engine in it, as I had a warranty I took out when purchased.
Upon getting it back, the tailgate release didn’t work, so the retailer agreed to put this right. As I was waiting to book it in, I got a restrictedperformance red triangle, and lo and behold, it was the left inlet manifold. Retailer again paid got it sorted at Green Oval in Leeds.
I got it back on Friday last week, and all was well. The brakes were a bit squeaky, but the car had been stood a long while, so I thought little of it. Over the last few days, it got progressively more noisy and upon inspection, the disc was shot. It looks like a seized calliper. As the car was booked in today for the tailgate, they’ve again agreed to sort it and also put 12 months MOT on it and sort any fails/advisories.
The dealerShip principal Has worked his butt off to sort this out, including providing me a car for the entirety of lockdown. Even allowing for the engine being done under warranty, he’s spent a couple of grand to keep me happy, so I can’t fault him. I did consider doing a section 75 and returning the car, but I can’t be without a car for any amount of time and he’s been forthcoming with 3 different courtesy cars! You hear lots of horror stories about afterSales care from Evans Halshaw, but their Batley Ford dealership is well led by Paul.
I’ve learned a lot from this forum, and every step of the way, with every fault, I’ve found answers on here. You guys are all great. My car now sports A disco4.com Sticker on the rear, and once we are allowed to get back to shows and meets, I look forward to actually catching up with some of the legends from this forum.
Have a good day everyone!
