Toilet roll

In the current situation we have been using toilet-paper from a range of different brands. Several include on their out wrapper instructions on use. Really? Shocked

Took me a trip to several shops on Friday to find some loo roll for a friend. Still people taking it as soon as it is on the shelf. I wonder if the manufacturers are able to increase output (ahem) and if so, why shops don't just put more out.

I popped in to our village shop this morning to get some bread (they have a delivery twice a week from a local bakery so it's "nice bread" rather than Kingsmill etc.). He's got toilet rolls on the shelf but they're single items (not wrapped up in 4s, for example). If he sells them singly (I didn't ask), then he's going to get to know people's, er, movements, very well by the end of this... Whistle Rolling with laughter

As an aside, the shop acts as a collection point for a dry cleaner (as many village shops do). The dry cleaner has apparently dealt with my jacket but, because of the "essential travel" rules, isn't now delivering or collecting. So they can be open to do dry cleaning (specific exemption in the "close all shops" rules), but can't get / return items of clothing. Which is a bit silly really, but I can see why he doesn't want to visit a dozen villages at the moment.

Did the same last week. Shelves being refilled with loo rolls and customers limited two packs we picked up one and most others did the same. And no grabbing or squabbling. Thumbs Upt

There is a report out there somewhere with, IIRC, Andrex justifying smaller rolls as by improving the paper it "maintained the effective wipe-motion count"

motion-wipe count, surely?
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

As the shortages get worse he will be selling them as single sheets. Perhaps there will be a market for second hand ones.?
