Contactless currency card recomendations |
|
I've not bothered to get one before, but I'm thinking it may be useful on an upcoming holiday. Multi currency isn't critical, as mostly Eurozone only, but ability to top up via an app is required and don't want to pay any regular fee.
Any recommendations? MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

I use the Post Office card but as of December last year my bank stopped all charges for Euro / Krona CH franc withdrawals and spend on my debit card, just pay the bank exchange rate which is ok
Used it in Sweden last month, no problems - maybe see what you bank can offer? Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

I have Caxton and Revolut. Both work very well on the app, although they are differrnet in that Revolut you load sterling and then change to what you need, Caxton you load the currency at the start, although you can later exchange it to other currencies. Revolut has slightly better exchange rates, customer service is by chat only, and very limited cash withdrawals. Some have complained about customer service, but I have not ahd a problem yet. Caxton has phone support in office hours, and does allow cash £300 per day. d4 HSE

Have a look at the Halifax Clarity credit card
realise its not a pre loaded card but can use it in a variety of countries and as long as you pay it off each month doesnt cost you anything

I got an EASYFX master card last year for USA.
Was really easy. Top up on the app. Load up with £ then choose your currency. Can have multiple currencies.
Worked in most places, but for some reason, some restaurants didn't like it over there. It was something to do with the way chip and pin. MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

+1 for Caxton World Traveller. Been using it for years all round the world (Europe, Mid East, US, Asia & Australasia)
Rates good, no currency exchange rate fees and normally free to withdraw from cash point.
App easy and quick to load it up. D1 3Door (White) Long gone

Hi, just to clarify, with the exception of the credit cards, are all the others contact less? I use Weswap which is great and really good rates, but it's not contact less which would be nice.
If anyone wants to get a weswap card let me know as we each get £5 for a recommendation, up to £50. So with a bit of organisation we could all get £50, probably.... Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey
