Permanent 12V supply for DVD players in the rear. |
|
Appologies in advance as this must have been asked before , but a quick search didn't reveal anything.
I am looking to either add a couple of permanent 12V sockets (one for the second row and one for the third row of seats) or prefereably , to covert the existing sockets from a switched 12V to a permanent 12V.
Can anybody give some advice please before I start destroying the inside of my newly aquired HSE
Thanks in advance. 2007 Series 3 HSE

Search Wiggs posts & his Gallery, you should find all you need to know, he's now a master at ripping the insides out of his car for the next wire to be routed....... Bodsys Brake Bible

I'm in the process of installing a TPSE (Twin Power Socket Extension) kit from Traxide in Australia, as well as their SC40 plug-and-play dual battery controller kit. This will give me two extra sockets in the rear, powered by a separate battery, safeguarding my cranking battery. The kit seems to be well made, with good instruction and quick and friendly service. Check out their website http://www.traxide.com.au/DBS.html . They have many different kits and configurations that may be of use to you.

I have fitted one of the SC40-LR kits ...not in my car , but someone else,s.
Very easy to fit , and as stated all plug and play.
I did have to make up a new earth lead as we used a different battery , and the posts were in a different place.
All in all a very nice piece of kit ...and when im in the market for a second battery install , i will be getting one of those G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Is there enough interest in a group buy or at least saved shipment costs? I was looking at getting an extra battery for my summer trip & whilst I know TFC would do an Excellent job, I'm a bit on the skint side til SWMBO goes back to work after summer, so this looks like it would be a good self install option.
He has stated in a previous post that he'll give us all 10% discount off of the kit prices. Bodsys Brake Bible
