Couple of questions:
1 - at the moment all my driving is road, however I am planning on getting a second set of wheels for off road / winter. Would these be any good for that?
2 - would these be OK for day to day road use?

They're a mixed use tyre, great winter and road capabilities as well as light off road use!

1. They work well off road and they are winter rated so they cover both bases there. They're not as good off road as a more dedicated /aggressive tyre might be, nor are they as good on winter tarmac as a dedicated winter road tyre would be. They're a compromise. I haven't tried them in snow yet (*).
2. Yes they are ok for day to day road use. Bear in mind that they are an all terrain tyre and so have compromises in terms of road performance. They aren't as good on wet or dry tarmac as a pure road tyre. They also use more fuel than a pure road tyre. I run the AT+ on my RRS and they're fine but I'm aware they are a compromise.
(*) I had the Grabber AT3 in snow previously and they worked well. They're also as good off road. And I think they're a bit better on road than the Pirelli AT+ but it's down to minor differences really.
In terms of off road ability, I think it depends what you're looking to do. The Pirelli has quite large tread blocks which aren't so good in muddy conditions. But the larger tread blocks are useful on rocky ground where more tread in contact with the surface can be a benefit.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I have never been offroading, so I am looking to do some green laning first. So these may be a good option for the winter / green laning tyres then. For green lanes, this or the Grabber AT3 would be fine. For winter both would be ok although I feel the AT3 might be better in both cases in the UK.
Bear in mind that a lot of lanes are subject to winter closure orders. Indeed, for many lanes, specialist tyres shouldn't be necessary. If the route is bad enough to need aggressive tyres, then it shouldn't be driven on anyway.
The Strata Florida can be done on road tyres, assuming the river water levels aren't too high, for example.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

im in the market for new tyres shortly too
with tyreleader im assuming you then have to pay a local fitter around £20 a corner to have them swapped onto your wheels and fitted ?2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Although I use Tyreleader as a price guide and add £15-20 to their listed prices as a gauge to what I’d pay a local tyre firm. If they aren’t competitive they’ll normally match that price anyway.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Re. Fitting - Yes I'd budget up to £15 per corner for fitting, but this still works out a lot cheaper than my local tyre place even before VAT is added.
These are replacing Vredestein Wintrac Extreme. The vred's are great but I'm on my 3rd pair and they do get very chewed up by the heavy disco, I suspect when low speed manoeuvring on full lock etc.
Another factor in my decision to buy these is that my 20" summer wheels were 'refurbed' last year. The idiots coated them so thick the centre caps don't even fit properly. To top it off they coated the hub face too! They sanded them back but I now have an uneven hub face which has destroyed one set of brake discs already. (long story short-ish)
Anyway, it means I can run these ATR+ on my 19's in the summer too until I can find a machine shop to skim 0.5mm off the hub faces.
